Setting Up Artwork for Backprinted Stickers
The best way to prepare files for backprinting is to submit a two-page vector PDF. Page one should contain the front design of your sticker, and page two should contain the back design. Both pages must follow our standard artwork set up guidelines.
For backprinting, there’s one important difference:
- Backprinted designs must include a 1/8" safety inset.
- In the “Special Instructions” box, note which page is the front and which is the back, and let us know if you’d like a pull tab or carrier sheet.
Understanding Tabs vs. Carrier Sheets
When choosing how your stickers peel, you’ll select either a tab or a carrier sheet:
- Tab: Adds a small pull tab to the edge of your sticker for easy peeling. Ideal for individual stickers.
- Carrier Sheet: Keeps your sticker attached to a larger sheet with a cut outline, making it easier to peel, and offers space for branding or instructions.
Custom Shapes and Back Printing
If your sticker features a custom shape, be sure that any images or text you’d like printed on the back are mirrored within that same shape. Because the artwork is printed on the reverse side of the material, we’ll need to flip the cutline to ensure your design aligns perfectly once printed.
Alternate Submission Methods
If you don’t have a two-page PDF, there are other ways to submit your artwork:
- Two separate files: Upload the front design during checkout, then email the back design to support@stickergiant.com with the subject line: Backprinting Item #XXX. Our team will pair your files and create a proof.
- Single file only: If you submit just one file, our Customer Support Team will reach out to request the missing file and confirm your tab or carrier sheet preference.
