Clear and Backprinted Sticker Backing

While most of our products are finished with split backing, our Clear Stickers and Backprinted Stickers are the exceptions to this. Applying split backing to either of these materials isn’t an option because any visible cut lines or splits in the liner show through the Clear Stickers or could impede the design on the backliner when printing Backprinted Stickers.

To keep your design looking polished and professional, we avoid split backing and instead offer peel assistance options in the form of a tab or carrier sheet. Just include notes in the "Special Instructions" field of which peel assistance you would prefer, and our art team will take care of the rest.

What types of peel assistance are available?

Peel tabs are added design features that make stickers easier to peel from their liner. We offer two types of solutions:

Tabs

A small, unprinted extension beyond your sticker’s cut line. This little handle gives you a simple way to lift the sticker from the liner—no fingernail gymnastics required.

Carrier Sheets

A larger sheet that holds your sticker in the center, giving you extra space around the edge to grab and peel easily.

Peel assistance is especially helpful for smaller sticker sizes, intricate die-cut designs, or when you’re applying a large number of stickers quickly—like during packaging runs or promo events.

How to Request a Tab or Carrier Sheet

Adding peel assistance is easy! When uploading your artwork to the Clear Stickers or Backprinted Stickers product page, scroll to the “Special Instructions” box and add a note like:

  • “Please add a peel tab for easy application.”
  • “Include a carrier sheet for better peel access.”
  • “Tab needed—this is a small sticker that’s hard to peel.”

Our Graphic Production Artists will take care of the rest. If you have a preferred placement for the tab, or if you're unsure which peel assistance option works best for your sticker shape or size, feel free to ask—we’re happy to help.

When to Use a Tab vs. a Carrier Sheet

Not sure which peel assistance setup is best for your project? Here’s a quick breakdown:

  • Choose a tab if your sticker is under 2” or has a detailed or odd shape—this makes it easier to peel from one clear spot.
  • Choose a carrier sheet if your sticker is centered and you want a consistent, easy-to-handle backing.

Both options offer a frustration-free peel and elevate the user experience—especially for customers or teams using your stickers on the go.
