How to Set Up Your Artwork for Sticker Sheets

To get started, we’ll need a well-organized file with your stickers placed on the sheet. For the best results, please send a layered file so our team can adjust spacing, cut lines, or bleeds if needed. If the file isn’t layered, our ability to make changes will be limited.

If there are multiple setup issues, we’ll ask you to make the corrections on your end and re-upload a new file.

Sticker Sheet Size Limits

  • Maximum sheet size: 11" x 14"
  • Minimum sticker size on a sheet: 0.375"
  • Maximum number of stickers per sheet: 30

Rules for Setting Up Sticker Sheets

Follow these exact setup rules to make sure your Sticker Sheets print perfectly:

1. Leave 1/8" Space from Sheet Edge

Cut lines must be at least 1/8" away from the edge of the sheet. This ensures stickers peel cleanly.

2. Keep Artwork 1/16" Inside Each Cut Line

Each sticker peel off design (including the outer edge of the sheet) should sit at least 1/16" inside its cut line so no important details get trimmed.

3. Add 1/16" Bleed Beyond Cut Lines

Extend any background colors or artwork at least 1/16" beyond the cut line to avoid unintentional white borders.

4. Keep 1/16" Space Between Stickers

There must be at least 1/16" of space between the cut lines of each sticker on the sheet.

5. Round All Corners to 0.04" or Larger

All sticker corners need a minimum 0.04" radius to prevent peeling issues and sharp edges.

Understanding Bleed vs. Safe Area (Insets)

One of the most common mistakes when setting up sticker sheets is understanding how bleed, safety insets, and your cut line work together. Here are some key tips and tricks to keep in mind:

Bleed = Background Colors Extend Beyond the Cut Line

  • Why it matters: Prevents thin white edges from showing if the cut shifts slightly.
  • Rule: Extend backgrounds/artwork at least 1/16" beyond each individual cut line.

Think of bleed as your “insurance” that the design reaches the edge.

Safe Area (Inset) = Keep Important Artwork Inside the Cut Line

  • Why it matters: Prevents important details from being trimmed off.
  • Rule: Keep important artwork at least 1/16" inside the cut line.

Think of the safe area as a “no-fly zone” near the edge of your sticker—keep key details away from it.

Important Notes to Remember:

If the background of your sticker sheet is the same background for each individual sticker, you will only need to worry about the outer sheet bleed, safety insets of each sticker, and the distance between each cut line.

If you have a different color for each individual sticker compared to the full sheet, you'll need to think about 1/16” of bleed outside of each cut line – and how that impacts the overall sheet feel. It’s ok if bleeds overlap, so long as they are each the same color – but that may not be the look you’re going for!

How Our Team Can Help

You’re not on your own—we can fine-tune your setup if you need help. Just leave notes for us in the Special Instructions box when uploading your artwork. For example:

  • “Add a hang tag at the top.”
  • “Please don’t cut around the taco design.”
  • “Add a glitter border around each design.”
  • Or even a fun note like, “I hope these stickers make you smile.”

We’ll take it from there to ensure your stickers are print-ready.
