The main difference between labels and stickers on rolls comes down to the lamination, thickness, and finishing options. Stickers on rolls feature a UV-protective laminate for extra durability outdoors. Labels, while also resistant to water, oil, and scratches, are better suited for indoor use due to the absence of UV protection.

If you're deciding between the two, consider where and how your product will be used. Stickers are great for promotions and outdoor visibility. Labels excel at packaging and product branding that stays indoors. No matter which product you choose, custom roll quantities can be specified at checkout!

Choose Labels If:

  • Your products are for indoor use, such as candles, food jars, or dry goods.
  • You plan to use a label application machine for faster labeling.
  • You want roll labels that peel off easily and hold up to everyday handling.

Our Glossy, Matte, Kraft, and Holographic Labels are all optimized for this kind of use.

  • You need durability and weather resistance for handing out stickers at events or using them outdoors.
  • You want the convenience of perforated rolls for easy distribution.
  • You're looking to elevate your brand presence with custom shapes and finishes.

Both Kiss Cut Stickers and Clear Stickers can be finished on rolls with perforation.

Key Differences Between Stickers on Rolls and Labels

Lamination and Durability

  • Stickers on rolls (like Kiss Cut or Clear Stickers) are finished with UV lamination, making them weatherproof and ideal for outdoor applications.
  • Labels on rolls (Glossy, Matte, Kraft, Holographic, etc.) are laminated for protection against water and oil but do not have UV protection, so they’re best used indoors.

Finishing Options

  • Stickers can be finished with perforations between each item, making them easy to hand out or peel off.
  • Labels do not include perforation options.
  • Kiss Cut Stickers and all labels come automatically finished on a roll, while Clear Stickers are available as both individual die cuts or on rolls.

Material Thickness

  • Labels are slightly thinner than stickers, offering more flexibility for labeling curved or squeezable containers.
  • Stickers are thicker and more durable, holding up well to repeated handling or exposure to the elements.
